SEO Case Study: Hacker Clothing
This website has always been an eCommerce site and catered for counter-culture "Hacker Clothing". Sure, it's very much a "niche of a niche" but I liked the domain since it uses the vanity .clothing
extension.
Project Overview
This project was originally a spin-off from the Cybersecurity training and other projects I was involved with. Seeing if I could dominate the niche was an objective given the fact that the domain is highly-specific.
The Challenge
The challenge was the theme. The site has been relaunched many times; but for the purposes of this project I needed an eCommerce "look and feel" and I eventually landed on a theme that replicated the successful style of ThisIsWhyIAmBroke. This affiliate site is a legend amongst a lot of affiliate marketers.
SEO Approach & Solution
I decided on widening the scope of the product range to try and encompass more SEO search terms, to include:
- Rave 1990s "Rave Clothing";
- 1990's Rock and Pop Bands;
- - and other quirky styles...

What's Next For The Website?
Honestly, out of all the projects I work on (or have worked on) this site recieves the least amount of work and effort. I guess the main reason is because the affiliate sales commission of TShirts is not that exciting; however - I still believe it is a project that is worthwhile to keep alive, mostly because I like the domain.
