I’m currently heading the SEO for Digitas, part of Publicis Media, Hong Kong.

The Publicis Groupe is a French multinational advertising and public relations company, one of the oldest and largest marketing and communications companies in the world by revenue headquartered in Paris. Publicis Media provides a range of services through a number of agencies and brands, including Saatchi & Saatchi, Leo Burnett, Starcom, Zenith, Spark Foundry, Blue 449, and Performics.

At Digitas, I lead the SEO for top-tier Insurance, eCom, Entertainment, Finance, Banking and Luxury Brands in Hong Kong.

April 2021 – March 2022

SEO Lead for a publicly listed eCommerce website with 1 million products, 120 million URLs resulting in 3-4 million monthly users. Global Market leader within the Korean Beauty and Fashion space (especially the KPop niche).

  • Grew organic non-branded traffic by 23% YoY in Q3-4 2022 by stabilizing volatility and onpage SEO;
  • Improved the crawl ratio to 3 Googlebot hits per URL creating an extra 5M additional indexed pages;
  • Increased pageviews by 6% per month to 30M through content-clustering initiatives (‘content-marketing’);
  • Increased backlink velocity by 5% MoM by implementing an inhouse process to acquire inbound links;
  • Devised processes to discover and optimize trending keywords alongwith associated content-creation;
  • Built a strategy to acquire niche-related websites to boost specific categories on our main site;
  • Spearheaded a tech SEO process to “force-index” an extra 1K PDP URLs each day;
  • Trained our multilingual editorial team to use content-optimization tools that grew our H2 blog traffic 11%;
  • Improved FID (First Input delay) “site load” after reducing site technical errors by 12% and minifying code;
  • Implemented a daily log-analysis crawl design to specifically detect and map Googlebot behaviour, resulting in constant onpage improvements and testing validation;
  • Pioneered the use of niche-specialised SEO freelancers and vendors to help meet KPIs;
  • Introduced an A/B split testing tool (using the Google Search Console API) to measure and report test

Campfire was Asia’s fastest growing network of shared spaces operating in Hong Kong, Singapore and London.

  • Introduced and tested hundreds of SEO strategies to enable higher conversions;
  • Designed and launched a referral (‘affiliate’) model that generates new leads and conversions;
  • Negotiated the sale of a local HK website that increased traffic, leads and sales;
  • Introduced a new channel: ‘native advertising’ and implemented relevant content marketing;
  • Launched and managed an online data scraping exercise using custom tools and Python scripts;
  • Initiated a partnership with iDendron, HKU Innovation & Entrepreneurship Hub Startup Programme;

Plum (Hong Kong/New York)

November 2017 – January 2019

Plum was a lunch curation app that delivered local meals that were sourced and delivered in central locations in Hong Kong, Singapore, Sydney and New York.

  • As an early employee, instrumental in reaching 10,000 daily orders within nine months, in four cities;
  • Generated 20% of all new customers through online lead conversion funnels Q1-YTD 2018;
  • Created a successful affiliate model which generates 1300+ customers per month;
  • Sent to New York to launch Plum’s NYC digital marketing operations, and implemented a successful social media strategy resulting in our target being beaten within the first month of operations;
  • Designed, & managed four localized sites for New York, Hong Kong, Sydney and Singapore;
  • Implemented ‘best-of-breed’ software stacks and hosting for our online presence;
  • Launched a successful offline marketing strategy to increase local brand awareness;
  • Worked with the investment team to present Plum to potential Seed Round investors in Hong Kong;

Established in 2012 Concise AC is a marketing company servicing clients within the Cybersecurity Industry.

  • Developed dozens of successful SEO/SEM strategies which resulted in domination of targeted keywords;
  • Worked with advertising platforms (Google Display Network, Amazon, Facebook) to execute native and remarketing campaigns for mobile and desktop advertising with demonstrable ROI;
  • Designed, implemented, maintained (and secured) dozens of front and back-end tech stacks;
  • Generated average monthly website traffic from zero to 100,000 visitors per month for a client and built a community of over 50,000 subscribers using carefully selected technologies and SEO/ SEM strategies;
  • Coded, managed and optimised the Internet’s most popular cybersecurity conference directory and launched a highly successful ‘hacker tools’ directory that, combined, currently generates over 10K daily visitors, which led to SANS Institute, SC Magazine, IT EXPO, TECHEXPO and ‘Cyber Security Summits USA’ becoming clients;
